The 2019 Subaru Ascent scales new heights with a new SUBARU BOXER engine, new high-torque Lineartronic CVT and new version of the Subaru Global Platform (SGP). The focus was on improving low-end torque, generating superior towing capacity and reducing weight overall. The result: an engine with the performance of a 6-cylinder, the fuel efficiency of a 4-cylinder and the freedom to pursue bigger adventures.

Hovewer, some of the competitors showed better results in IIHS tests. Both 2019 Subaru Ascent and Mercedes-Benz achieved the best results, Benz with optional equipment on front crash prevention. Acura and Cadillac got second to best results on Child Seat Anchors Ease of use, Acura got “Acceptable” score on Headlights, while Cadillac got only “Marginal”.
